The terms ‘climate change’ and ‘global warming’ have become common ones, yet a number of officials in Florida say they were barred from using them in communications. 

According to a report published by the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting, the mandate was spread throughout state offices verbally. 

It went into effect shortly after Republican Governor Rick Scott took office in 2011.
