The rider of the motorcycle, Lee Oliver, had been trying to do a wheelie while traveling at a speed of about 70 miles per hour. He lost control of the bike and struck the pavement, rolling into the lane of an oncoming van.
His motorcycle skidded across the road into a nearby grassy area. The driver of the vehicle slammed on the brakes but wasn't able to stop quickly enough. He was hit by the van and his body continued sliding down the street.
