Police in Berkeley, California are investigating an unusual case.

In the past week, officers were alerted of two separate occurrences in which the skins and heads of boars were left near local vegetarian restaurants.

One dead boar was discovered on top of a trash container in close proximity to an intersection and the vegan eatery. The other boar's head was spotted less than a mile away from the first scene. It had been placed on top of a news stand.

A man who works at a liquor store reviewed his surveillance footage and noticed a truck stopping and someone placing the head.

In both sightings, the police were contacted. One scene had already been cleaned up by locals when officers arrived, but police were able to remove the carcass at the second location.

At this time, investigators aren't sure if someone left the boar heads as a prank or if the vegan restaurants were targeted.
