Protest-themed guesthouse in Hong Kong

Hong Kong protests have moved indoors... or at least, their memorabilia has.

A new guesthouse called "the Umbrella Revolution Occupation Experience" has opened in the city, and guests can stay in one of three tents obtained from the actual demonstration sites -- for the equivalent of 13 US dollars.

Founder Stephen Thompson says he was impressed by the 79-days-long demonstration and wanted to keep the hopes for democracy alive.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) FOUNDER OF "UMBRELLA REVOLUTION OCCUPATION EXPERIENCE" STEPHEN THOMPSON SAYING:

"That space in the middle of Hong Kong, where people can exchange ideas and they can be creative with art, and people can be involved in a co-operative enterprise, I found that, that was a very inspiring experience."

Protesters were demanding free elections in 2017, instead of having Beijing screen the candidates... as well as pushing the city's leader to resign.

Now, CY Leung's face can be found in less desirable places.
