Princess Anne joined Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, among other dignitaries and veterans, for a Remembrance Day ceremony held at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Tuesday (November 11).

The ceremony was held at the site of where Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot and killed nearly three weeks ago. A gunman then opened fire in the main Parliament building.

Harper and his wife, Laureen, placed a wreath at the memorial in honour of the Canadian soldiers who fought in WWI.

About 80,000 people were estimated to be in attendance.
