Venezuela UNSC vote reflects int'l support

Venezuela was voted into the UN Security Council for a non-permanent seat, replacing Argentina, with 180 countries in favor of the motion. It will be the first country to simultaneously occupy a UN Security Council and the three-year chair of the Non-Aligned Movement. Foreign Relations Minister Rafael Ramirez said the decision of the international community was a reflection of worldwide support for Venezuela's message of peace, solidarity, and social justice.
