With their sights set on a £25,000 reward promoted by a local newspaper, American documentary makers Georgia and Matt head to Exmoor in North Devon to film the fabled ‘beast’ supposedly slinking through the remote terrain. Setting up a forest camp with an experienced tracker harbouring his own dark secrets, the trio fix 42 cameras to the trees and rocks, linked back to a computer nerve centre where nothing should go unnoticed as they take turns to keep watch throughout the night. As darkness settles, their plans are thrown into disarray as they stumble over the body of a dead girl in a clearing and they are horrified to realise that she isn’t alone.

De olho em uma recompensa de £25,000 divulgada por um jornal local, os documentaristas americanos Georgia e Matt se encaminham para Exmoor em North Devon para filmar a lendária ‘besta’ que supostamente tem se esgueirado nesta região isolada. Montando um acampamento na floresta com um rastreador experiente que abriga seus próprios segredos sombrios, o trio fixa 42 câmeras em árvores e rochas, ligadas a um computador central para que nada passe despercebido, enquanto eles se revezam seus turnos de vigia durante a noite. Quando a escuridão cai, os seus planos são desfeitos assim que tropeçam sobre o corpo de uma menina morta em uma clareira e eles ficam horrorizados ao perceber que ela não está sozinha.
