Tara, the 'Hero Cat' Throws First Pitch at Baseball Game

The ‘hero cat’ named Tara that saved a 4-year-old little boy from a dog attack, is a sought after celebrity now.

At a recent minor league baseball game in Bakersfield, California between the Blaze and the Lancaster JetHawks, Tara tossed out the first pitch…kind of at least.

Things weren’t exactly smooth at first. The original plan was to make it look like Tara threw the ball across the field, but in reality the ball would be attached to a fishing line. That idea didn’t work out too well so Tara’s owner, Ryan stepped up the mound while cradling the cat.

He tried to use Tara’s paw to basically whip it to the catcher but again…it was a fail. Eventually Ryan tossed the ball using his own hand, doing his best to make it look as though Tara threw it.

Judging by the cheers, the crowd seemed to be pleased. Tara isn’t the only creature to have graced the pitcher’s mound in recent days.

Earlier in May, at Petco Park in San Diego, a baby dinosaur took over the mound at the Padres-Royals game. Of course, the dino was actually a man, dressed up in a T-rex suit. The dino pranced around the field with its head held high before stopping at the mound to throw out the first pitch.
