Woman gets 11 and half years behind bars for murdering ex-girlfriend

A 36-year-old woman surnamed Chen was stabbed to death by her 24-year-old ex-girlfriend Lee in a motel in Taichung in May.

According to police report, Lee invited her ex to have a drink in a motel. Overwhelmed by emotions, Lee stabbed Chen in her heart while she was sleeping. She died instantly.

Lee said she also stabbed herself in a suicide attempt and sent a farewell massage to her parents after the murder. However, Lee did not commit suicide after staying with Chen's corpse and holding her hands for 28 hours. She gave up on suicide and surrendered herself to the police.

Her lawyer claimed that Lee has been suffering severe depression. However, the judge said that Lee was still able to send text messages and even drive to a store to buy drinks after the murder. She had obvious motives and the murder was not an act of insanity.

Lee will be imprisoned for 11 years and six months.
