Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has announced it will hold a massive public rally in Karachi on Sunday afternoon (3:00pm) at Shahrah-e-Quaideen to express solidarity with country’s armed forces, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary, police and other law enforcement agencies in their fight against religious extremism. The decision was taken on Friday evening following a marathon session of MQM’s Central Coordination Committees in London and Pakistan. MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain also attended the session through telephone and endorsed the Coordination Committee’s decision to hold the rally on Sunday.
The Coordination Committee extensively debated country’s current political and security situation in its meeting and paid rich tribute to its armed forces, Rangers, FC and police personnel for their brave efforts to eradicate menace of religious extremism in Pakistan. The Coordination Committee severely condemned the killing and desecration of the dead bodies of 23 FC soldiers at the hands of TTP. The Committee unanimously agreed that the entire nation must put its full weight behind country’s law enforcement agencies at this crucial time and firmly stand behind them.
Following the decision to hold a public rally to support the country’s armed forces, Rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies, the Central Coordination of MQM has directed various wings of the party to launch full scale preparations for the rally on Sunday. Mr Altaf Hussain has endorsed the decision and has appealed to people of all faiths and nationalities to massively participate in the rally and demonstrate their full support for country’s law enforcement agencies.
