Both a man and a dog are said to be seriously injured following the explosion of a trailer.

The vehicle belonged to Splish 'n Splash, a mobile pet grooming service that operates in the Franklin County, Pennsylvania and Washington County, Maryland area.

It was parked outside of a home located south of Hagerstown when the incident occurred.

Area fire officials said they received the distress call at about 8:30 in the morning and responded immediately.

The owner of the truck was transported to the Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, and the dog was taken to a veterinarian.

A man on the scene said of the grooming trailer’s owner, "He had pretty significant burns on his scalp, upper body and arm. So did the dog, but he was able to get the dog out as well. Looks like the dog will be okay. Just a little but of shock and trauma.”

It was also reported that the blast was strong enough to shatter the vehicle’s windows and blow the doors off of their hinges.

An investigation into the cause of the explosion has been launched.
