One Direction Valentine's gift for Tokyo teenagers

In a frenzy of kisses, selfies and even tears, screaming teenagers welcomed One Direction to Madame Tussauds in Tokyo.

The wax figures of British boy band members Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall were unveiled one day early for 45 super-devoted fans.

SOUNDBITE: Yume Kobayashi, 19-year-old One Direction fan, saying (Japanese):

"To be able to actually meet him like this, and I can touch him. I am so happy."

One Direction is still new to the Japanese market but the band has already played sold-out concerts.

So, the promise of seeing them live somewhat overshadowed the wax replicas for one supporter.

SOUNDBITE: Haruka Furukawa, 19-year-old One Direction fan, saying (Japanese):

"This was nice but now I want more, next time I want to meet them when they perform in concert."

The group will be playing Madame Tussauds until May 12th.
