This Tale highlights the bitter reality of the society where a woman who is unable to give birth to a child is considered to be an ‘extra’ being and is out casted.Even in today’s modern society, the role of a woman is considered to be that of a home maker. A woman should be responsible for bearing children and looking after them. But if a woman is unable to have children, she is shunned from society and treated as an outcast, yet the desire to be a mother burns deep inside her. A desire that is so intense that she is willing to do anything for a child.
