Nike unveils FuelBand SE... can it really motivate us to exercise?

Sportswear giant Nike on Tuesday unveiled their latest fitness-oriented wearable device, the new Nike+ FuelBand SE, at an event held in New York City.

The device represents an important, while not quite major, update to last year's FuelBand fitness tracker, a bracelet that promised to get you moving by monitoring your physical activity and helping you set goals.

While maintaining the same form factor as its predecessor, the new model sports some newfound flair and comes in a variety of candy-colored flavors that accent the device's (now waterproof!) mostly black body.

The wrist worn device, however, sports a host of notable updates such as the inclusion of Bluetooth 4.0, which gives users the ability to not only see the energy expended in real time, but also to track individual sessions.

Motivating yourself to work out and stay in shape is easier said than done though and while Nike claims the device is now more accurate when it comes to fitness tracking, cheating may nonetheless still prove to be an issue as it was with last year's original FuelBand.
