Police in Pasco County, Florida are now investigating an attempted bank burglary after suspects tried to lift an ATM using a massive forklift.

The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. on a recent Saturday. According to investigators, the culprits, who have yet to be found, drove the heavy piece of machinery up to the TD bank and badly damaged the building.

When cops arrived on scene, the ATM was lying on its side, about 15 feet away from its original location and the forklift was still running. The suspects weren’t able to steal any money and they never gained entry inside the bank.

However they were able to get away from the bank unscathed. It’s currently believed the forklift was taken from a construction site, which was located across the street from the bank.

Deputies were not immediately able to obtain security footage from the business, but they claim when it’s available, the video clip will be released to the public, with the hope someone will recognize the suspects behind the crime.
