A Chinese bride marries with a $160 million dowry.

A newly wed bride from Jinjiang, China was married with a dowry worth the equivalent of over 160 million dollars.

The wedding gifts from her business tycoon father named Wu Ruibiao included a Mercedes-Benz and a Porsche and four boxes of gold, five million shares in his company, and several properties like a retail store in Quanzhou city, and a few villas.

The proud father even handed over 15 million yuan to charities for good luck.

His daughter married a man that she went to school with from kindergarten through high school.

Other wealthy families from Jinjiang have been known to give large sums or expensive gifts when their daughters are married.

Xu Liajie reportedly gave his daughter a dowry of 200 million yuan in November 2011, and Wu Jingbiao decided to give about the same amount when his daughter married this year.

Marriage can be expensive, but so can divorce.

A man in Hong Kong has had to cough up what may be the largest divorce settlement in Hong Kong to his wife of eight years.

He has been ordered to pay her the equivalent of over 150 million dollars.

The largest divorce settlement in the world happened in 1998 when Rupert Murdoch paid his wife of 32 years 1 point 7 billion dollars.
