Charlotte Bobcats versus Miami Heat Pick Prediction NBA Pro Basketball Odds Preview 12-26-2012

The 19-6 Miami Heat will be on a back to back when they face the 7-20 Charlotte Bobcats in an NBA pro basketball game on Wednesday night. Tip time from Charlotte is scheduled for 7PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass Channel.

The NBA odds from this game has the road team Miami Heat favored by -10 ½ points with an over under line of 203 ½ points. There has been no movement in the lines since the odds came out a few hours ago.

During the lockout season last year the Bobcats and Heat met three times with Miami winning all three games and covering the spread twice.

The Heat ran their win streak to five straight as they defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas Day 103-97 as a -2 ½ point betting favorite. The total came in at under 204 points. It marked the eighth straight game that the Heat held an opponent under 100 points. Head coach Eric Spoelstra challenged Miami early in this month to play April May style basketball and we have seen the Heat intensify defensively. They suffered a hangover during much of November but have righted their ship after a 20 point home loss to a New York Knicks team on December 6th playing without Carmelo Anthony.

After matching their season win total from last year at seven games the Bobcats have proceeded to lose their next 15 games. Their defense has been atrocious. They have allowed 100 or more points in 14 of their past 15 games. They have fallen to last in the NBA in scoring defense allowing 105 points a game plus they allow over 46% shooting. Charlotte shoots just over 41% from the floor and the problem is their guards take way too many shots. Their top four scores are guards and the highest shooting percentage from this quartet is 43%.
