01:19 A potential full-fledged military incursion into Rafah,
01:29 where some 1.5 million Palestinians are packed against the Egyptian border
01:34 with nowhere further to flee, is terrifying.
01:37 An extremely high number of civilians, mostly women and children,
01:41 will likely be killed or injured.
01:43 We have warned against actions violating the laws of war.
01:47 The prospect of such an operation into Rafah risks further atrocity crimes.
01:52 The world must not allow this to happen.
01:55 Those with influence must restrain rather than enable.
01:59 There must be an immediate ceasefire.
02:02 All remaining hostages must be released,
02:05 and there must be renewed collective resolve to reach a political solution.
02:09 Strikes in Rafah have heightened the concerns of an escalation
02:12 in Gaza's southernmost city,
02:14 where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have sought refuge.
02:17 Of the 1.7 million people displaced in Gaza,
02:21 the majority are situated in Rafah Governorate,
02:24 where humanitarian operations are now based.
02:27 The growing insecurity in Rafah has greatly impacted our ability
02:32 to respond to the humanitarian needs of the population there.
02:37 Ground operations, ground military operations,
02:40 and heavy fighting between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups
02:43 continue to be reported, obviously in Rafah, but also in Khan Younis.
02:49 In Khan Younis itself, intense fighting,
02:51 especially near the Nasser and al-Amal hospitals,
02:55 continues to jeopardize the safety, not only of medical staff,
02:59 but also, of course, of the patients, the wounded and the sick
03:02 those doctors and nurses are trying to take care of.
