Alpine spring water at the source of Vienna's climate security

Spectacular waterfalls, green forests and fresh air: the water that flows in abundance from Vienna's taps finds its source in the heart of the Alps, in an unspoiled setting that is the pride of the Austrian capital. While drought is taking its toll across Europe, the city of almost two million inhabitants does not foresee any rationing in the decades to come, thanks to what the city's climate councillor Juergen Czernohorszky says is a "crisis-proof" water supply from the Alps.
