10 - Martinis and bikinis…\r
\r
So, youve had your 3D printed drink in the previous post, and now youre ready to don your 3D printed\r
\r
bikini! This is the N12, which is said to be the first article of clothing made using a 3D printer. Some\r
\r
commentators have relished the idea of swimwear being printed like this, which wont be affected by\r
\r
chlorine and last a lot longer. Its said to be pretty comfy, and works out more affordable than buying a\r
\r
new bikini from the store.\r
\r

\r
So whilst wearing your new 3D printed bikini, why not create a new surfboard for yourself. This is a\r

\r
customizable, so from size, to stiffness to weight – whatever you love, you can create.\r
\r
8 - Blast from the past…\r
\r
Whats amazing about these 3D printers, is that theyre able to bring to life a world that we were never\r
\r
part of. With the help of a 3D printers, animals and artifs from ancient times are able to be recreated,\r
\r
and thereby really help education and learners to see it as it ually was, as opposed to just a picture in\r
\r
a book.\r
\r
7 - Wake Up and Make Up…\r
\r
This is one that women are going to love! Grace Choi loves inventing, and shes created a 3D printer\r
\r
called Mink. Mink is a powerful little printer that will allow women to print their own makeup at home!\r
\r
For example, if you see a flower with a beautiful colour that you love, you can snap a shot of that colour\r
\r
and your printer will print a lipstick in that ex shade! Grace says you need no coding knowledge and\r
\r
you dont need tons of cash either… shes an ivist empowering women with her 3D printing.\r
\r
6 - Spoilt for choice…\r
\r
When it comes to 3D printing, the skys the limit! This exquisite kayak was printed using a home printer,\r
\r
and it took 42 days to complete, as they had to do it section by section. The end result is amazing.\r
\r
5 - A masterpiece…\r
\r
As I said, the skys the limit when it comes to what you can create using 3D printers. This is the creation\r
\r
of Swiss architects, Michael Hansmeyer and Benjamin Dillenburger. They used algorithms to design the\r
\r
cathedral like interior, and they called it Digital Grotesque. It took them a month to complete the\r
\r
project, and they used massive sandstone parts for the printing.\r
\r
4 - Its a Face-Off…\r
\r
Its incredible to think that this technology is able to print an ex replica of ones own face. Its been\r
\r
proven time and again by various printers, and artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg is one of those enjoying\r
\r
her time recreating faces, but she uses things like a random strand of hair or a cigarette butt, and then\r
\r
uses the DNA to create the faces. Sounds pretty bizarre doesnt it?\r
\r
3 - Size counts…\r
\r
This miniature chess set was created using a 3D printer. Its as big as a quarter!\r
\r
2 - Imagination takes you everywhere…\r
\r
We featured this tiny drill recently on a list of worlds smallest, and its definitely worth a mention again.\r
\r
Created using a 3D printer, this ually works. Although, as the creator said – he isnt sure what youd\r
\r
ually drill, but thats not the point – it works and thats all that counts.\r
\r
1 - Memories to last a life time…\r
\r
When you become a parent, you want to try and treasure a lot of drawing and pieces of art that your kid\r
\r
has created… but if theres something extra-special, use a 3D printer to bring it to life. It will make you\r
\r
smile every time you see it, and that memory will last a life-time!
