Handcuffed prisoner brazenly walks out of court after escaping officers' clutches in 'blind spot'.

A courthouse has reviewed its security procedures after an inmate brazenly escaped through the front doors while still in custody and wearing handcuffs.

Gerald Hyde II had been convicted of drug charges and had been escorted from the courtroom by arm guards.

But less than a minute later Hyde is seen returning alone to the now-empty courtroom having somehow escaped the officers' clutches.

He strips off his prison-issue shirt and uses it to cover his handcuffs as he heads out of the exit.

He is then seen walking through the court building before kicking off his distinctive, orange coloured jail shoes and sprinting out of the front door. The bold escape happened at Benton County Courthouse in Washington State on December 16 last year.
