US starlett Scarlett Johansson added some Hollywood spice to Milan Fashion Week.
Designers Dolce and Gabbana created fireworks of lights to celebrate Mediterranean beauty for their 2012 women winter collection in Italy's fashion capital.
Tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes and hot pepper prints spiced up the classic cut of high-waist dresses and deconstructed jackets, short at the waist for a collection inspired by 50s looks.
The show brought guests into a Mediterranean village with illuminations that adorned streets for patron saints' festivities.
Clothes were made of organza or cotton, and came in pastel colours such as light blue, peach and tones of beige.
Skirts were below or just above the knee for a romantic silhouette.
Plastic details added a contemporary touch to the glittering collection.
Shoulder bags, earrings, necklaces and bracelets carried pasta, little vegetables and small Madonnas.
The "Mambo Italiano" song by movie legend Sofia Loren resounded during the glittering show.
For the evening, the illuminations were turned into luminous stones and multi-coloured crystal embroideries on lace dresses and bodysuits that shone like fireworks.
